LEAFTIN LIMITED operates Leaftin, a service for reading, publishing and book communities. Contact us at leaftinmedia@gmail.com or +234 813 640 9073 with privacy questions.
Information used by Leaftin
We process account information such as your email, username and name, and profile details you choose to provide, including your photo, banner, biography, location text, website and reading interests. When you use a sign-in provider such as Apple, Google or SMC, we use the identity information supplied by that provider to authenticate your account.
We store the content you submit, such as thoughts, replies, images, publications, room messages and voice notes. Live Spaces transmit audio to participants. Recorded Spaces and voice notes may be stored and made available to the relevant community.
We process reading and community activity, including library items, reading progress, follows, reactions, bookmarks, views, room participation and reminder preferences. If you make purchases or receive author earnings, we process order, payment-status and payout information. Payment providers handle the payment details supplied through their services.
We use device notification tokens and notification preferences to deliver alerts. Our hosting, authentication, payment and communications services may process technical information such as network addresses and service logs to operate and secure the service.
Why we use this information
We use information to authenticate users; provide books, libraries, publishing and conversations; personalize reading and discovery; deliver requested notifications; process transactions; prevent abuse; troubleshoot problems; and respond to support and privacy requests.
Content visibility and service providers
Your public profile, thoughts, replies and published content are visible to other users. Room messages, voice notes and recordings are visible to people with access to those rooms. Avoid posting information you do not want others to see or hear.
Leaftin uses providers including Supabase for authentication and storage, Render for web hosting, LiveKit for live audio and recording, Firebase and Apple Push Notification service for notifications, and Bachs or Flutterwave for supported payment and payout services. These services process information needed for their functions. Information may be processed outside your country.
Permissions and your choices
You can choose whether to allow notifications, microphone or camera access through your device settings. Microphone access supports speaking in Spaces and recording voice notes. Camera and photo access support images you choose to upload. You can edit your profile information and control content through the features available in the app.
Retention and account requests
We retain information needed to provide your account and the service, resolve disputes, prevent abuse and meet applicable recordkeeping obligations. When an account is deleted, its public access and live app records are removed. A restricted legal and audit record of relevant account, content and transaction information may be retained for up to seven years, or longer when a legal hold or applicable law requires it. It does not include passwords or active session tokens and is not available through the app. Backup copies may remain until they are replaced through normal backup operations.
You may contact us to request access, correction or deletion of your personal information or account. Use your account email so we can verify the request. Where applicable, you may also object to or request restriction of processing and contact the relevant data-protection authority.
Security and updates
We use authentication, access controls and encrypted connections to help protect information. No system can guarantee absolute security. We may update this policy as the service changes and will identify the updated date on this page.
